A World Above The Clouds: Nepal

Resting at the rooftop of the world, the Dolpo region of Nepal is one of the few places in the Himalayas that is still unexplored by travelers and relatively untouched by development. Located in the northwestern part of the country, Dolpo consists almost entirely of dirt trails that have been trodden by humans and yaks for centuries. This however, is slowly starting to change, as the influences and pressures from the neighboring Chinese is starting to noticeably creep into the villages along the Dolpo border.  Still, for the time being, there is a charm and a purity of the land and people in Dolpo that is hard to find in the world these days.
